South Notts Hunt Boxing Day meet – 2014   Leave a comment

Once again this Boxing Day I took a drive over to the neighbouring village of Car Colston to photograph the South Notts Hunt gathering.  This year it seemed better attended than ever. It’s a festive community that assembles at 10am on the village green on Boxing Day morning.

Horses, people, cars and hounds everywhere – the South Notts kennels have been at Annesley, Thurgarton, Elvaston, Gedling  and are now located at Epperstone.

The hounds hunt a scent trail now, not foxes, and the riders are from all walks of life and of all ages.

Here’s the morning in words and pictures – Merry Christmas:

The Hunt assembles and strikes out for the village green.

The horn blows and the South Notts Hunt is away.
